Environmental policy
BPP College of Professional Studies recognises the responsibility for reducing the environmental impact of our operations.
Where practicable BPP will contribute to sustainable development by integrating environmental considerations into the design and management of our academic, research and professional services, the procurement of goods and services and the development, operation and maintenance of sites and facilities.
We are committed to:
- collecting and evaluating information on environmental and health and safety issues
- using environmentally friendly procedures wherever possible
- continual improvement of our contribution to the protection and enhancement of both the local and global environment
- the reduction and prevention of pollution and waste
- positive action to recycling, reducing or reusing wherever possible
- conserving water, energy and other resources (particularly where non-renewable)
- ensuring waste disposal and effluent treatment are dealt with in a responsible manner
- promotion of environmental awareness and appreciation through our academic, research and professional services
BPP College of Professional Studies will:
- ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation and other environmental requirements to which the College subscribes and which relate to the College’s environmental aspects
- co-operate with environmental regulatory bodies
- provide information and training necessary for employees and students involvement in meeting the objectives of this policy
- assess and monitor the environmental impacts of our activities and maintain contingency plans to minimalise the impact of foreseeable environmental incidents and for preventing, mitigating and controlling serious environmental and health damage including accidents and emergencies
