Admissions Manager

 

BPP College comprises BPP Law School and BPP Business School. BPP’s mission is to offer our students the highest standard of professional education and training available. This incorporates their full experience of BPP, from sighting of marketing materials and first enquiry, through to graduation and alumni services. 

Job Purpose:  The post-holder is responsible for the provision and development of customer focussed front-line services to students delivered by admissions staff. The post-holder will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement pre and post application strategy to maximise student recruitment numbers and main customer service standards.  The portfolio of programmes is reviewed and changed on an annual basis.

Upon enrolment a student is directed to the relevant Registrar.

Probation: The appointment is subject to a 4 month probationary training period

Main Duties & Responsibilities

You will take the lead for the management of front-line services to students including response to enquiries, information on programmes, facilities and support available to students  throughout the enquiry, application, admission and enrolment process.

You will take a proactive management role to review and develop departmental process including:

  • Managing the front-line Admissions and Recruitment Officers to ensure that there is consistency both in the front-line services for students across the College Centres and in the  application of College processes and procedures
  • Providing timely reports to senior managers to ensure that the College is meeting its targets for admissions and enrolment
  • Producing lists for the nine firms relating to their trainees
  • Working with other College staff to ensure that information and admissions services are reviewed and developed to meet the needs of potential and enrolled students and their parents/carers where applicable
  • Identifies staff training needs to support the development of services and organises and runs training to ensure that established and temporary front-line staff are able to deal with admissions and enrolment in a timely and accurate manner
  • Working with Academic Registrar, Marketing Manager and other College staff to plan admissions and enrolment including briefing and/or training all staff who are involved in admissions and enrolment

You will play an integral role in key recruitment activities undertaken by BPP College by participating in the delivery of the admissions services including:

  • Playing an active role in the Admissions Enquiry Service of BPP responding via telephone, in writing, via e-mail and in person to potential applicants and their advisors or sponsors and promoting relevant products, facilities and services
  • Communicating with applicants, their parents, sponsors and originating schools, colleges or other institutions over the status of application
  • Monitoring requests for literature and following up on leads generated
  • Creating and maintaining manual and computer records for each application and enquiry
  • Promoting recruitment events to potential students ensuring maximum attendance and high rates of conversion to enrolment
  • Assessing the eligibility of applicants for admission to a variety of Law School and Business School programmes
  • Liaising closely with Programme Leaders and recruitment staff in the Schools to ensure smooth and speedy admissions decisions on applicants
  • Assisting with activities necessary to support the promotion of the programme and meet recruitment targets for each programme
  • Generating and dispatching offer and rejection letters (with Customer Service Standard turn around times) for all offered and deferral students and record responses to the offer letters
  • Processing acceptances, rejections (detailing reasons) and fee deposits
  • Providing various letters for accepted, current and former students, (i.e. for council tax, banking, Student Visa applications etc.)
  • Liaising closely with registry in respect of publicity response, enrolment figures and possible lead chasing

You will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement pre and post application recruitment strategy including:

  • Maintaining contact with deferrals to ensure their return
  • Facilitating successful return on investment monitoring is possible for the marketing department
  • Disseminating marketing literature, e.g. mail shots, brochures, flyers etc
  • Follow-up calls
  • Recognising and identifying from prospective students, contacts with industry, colleges and universities potential new programmes provision for product development
  • Assisting with market research and competitor analysis
  • Open days
  • Participating in student recruitment events
  • Ensuring programme profiles are updated annually (UCAS CAB)

Education & Experience

You must possess:

  • A degree or equivalent level qualification and minimum 1 years experience in a customer services or sales environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
  • Experience of CRM databases advantageous
