Job Purpose: To provide assistance and support to the production department

Location: Holborn

Department: Production

Reporting to: Production Manager

Working Hours:37.5 hours a week

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure hard copy course materials are formatted in accordance with house style
  • Accurately order hard copy course materials for all Law Schools using a central database
  • Liase with printing company regarding orders of hard copy course materials
  • Provide tutors with information on delivery schedules of materials
  • Quality checking and monitoring print deliveries
  • Production of exam papers
  • Create, save and amend word documents in the production drive
  • Create powerpoint presentations
  • Proof read documents
  • Create legal forms using oyez forms software
  • To upload course materials onto the VLE
  • To create tests, announcements and manage the course material content on the VLE
  • To create artwork including brochures, newsletters, posters etc using QuarkXPress
  • Checking invoices
  • Assisting in budget preparation, forecasting and monitoring of budget throughout the year
  • Assist in scanning requests
  • To provide general administrative support to the department
  • Liase with other student support departments as and when necessary
  • Attend meetings as and when required
  • Creating back up copies of all course materials
  • Assisting in production and collation of confidential materials such as pitch and validation documents
  • Photocopy documents if required
  • Copy typing if required

Essential Skills

You must have proven ability in the following areas:

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access,
  • A high level of communication skills
  • Establishing rapport with people and professionals
  • Problem-solving
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to successfully multi task
  • The ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.

Desirable Skills

  • A good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Quark
  • Touch typing

Education & Experience

  • You must have a good standard of education.
