Nicki McLaren

Director of BVC Programmes

Nicki joined BPP in 2002. She was appointed as Director of Programmes for the Bar Vocational Course in 2006 and was previously the Part-time Programme Leader for the BVC.

Nicki is a qualified barrister and was called to the Bar in 1991 she maintains a door tenancy in the Chambers of Simon Draycott Q.C at 5 St Andrews Hill.  Nicki practised on the South East Circuit at the Criminal Bar and specialised in drugs work. She was instructed by Customs and Excise as a junior counsel in a number of lengthy, multi–handed drugs, diversion frauds and VAT trials. She was also instructed by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in respect of trading standards and food hygiene.

Whilst at the Bar Nicki had a keen interest in the continuing education of pupils, she was involved in pupil workshops and was vice chair of the Inner Temple Junior Tenants Committee between 1993-1996.
