John Herrmann

Director of LLM Programmes

John graduated in 1983 with a degree in law before completing the Bar Vocational Course, the Legal Practice Course and a Masters degree in law from University College London. For a number of years he worked in various public sector universities in the UK teaching law and as an admissions tutor.

John spent fours years in Malaysia teaching the London University external LLB and designing modules for internal programmes. He then co-founded and was a director of a private Law School in Singapore.

John joined BPP in 1999 as a tutor and took a keen interest in developing the business. He is now one of the directors of BPP College. His main management role is as the Director of Marketing with responsibility for developing an effective marketing plan for the College, ensuring this plan is implemented and ensuring that the College has appropriate structures, procedures and resources to operate in a highly competitive environment.  He has used his joint experience in academia and marketing to develop a number of products for the Law School including the part-time Saturday Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), distance learning GDL, Summer School and LLM and is currently working on the LLB.

John is also coordinating BPP’s strategy for developing a portfolio of short programmes. He has been an external examiner at various universities and is currently an external examiner at the University of the West of England. To keep in touch with the student population, John teaches criminal law for a few hours a week on the GDL.
