Aspiring lawyers invited to BPP Law School, Manchester for free taster evening

November 21, 2008

BPP Law School, Manchester will be hosting a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) taster session for aspiring lawyers on Tuesday 25 November for all non-law degree student and graduates who want to convert to study for a career in Law.

The free evening will run from 5.30pm-7pm at BPP Law School, St James’s Building, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ.

The GDL taster session will enable students and graduates to learn more about the GDL and participate in an interactive lecture on an area of the GDL syllabus. Graduates who do not have a law degree need to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) if they want to pursue a career as a barrister or solicitor.

BPP Law School saw its GDL applications increase sharply for the 2008/09 academic year by 31 per cent nationally on the previous year. Ann Evans, GDL programme leader, BPP Law School, Manchester feels that the current economic climate has contributed to this increase; she said: “Law is often seen as a safe haven in times of economic uncertainty and so we’ve seen an increase in graduates converting to a career in law rather than continuing into other professions like banking.”

Students and graduates who want to find out about attending the event or the Graduate Diploma in Law can call the Admissions department on 0845 077 5566 or email admissions@bpp.com
